There’s something about doing your first shoot that makes it all feel real. After months of designing, revising samples, and sorting out the backend stuff—you finally get to see your pieces come to life on actual people, in actual locations.
For Altyra Studio, that moment came in Nepal.
I flew over from Sydney to make it happen. It wasn’t just a work trip—it was a reset. Being back in Kathmandu, where so many parts of this brand were inspired from, gave me new energy. It reminded me of why we’re building this—clothes that feel grounded but go far.

When meeting Rohan for the first time in Nepal was also great. I mean we had not seen each other
To pull off the shoot, we linked up with Blu Labs—our visual collaborators based in Nepal. These guys? Super easy to work with, genuinely creative, and incredibly open to experimenting. We explained our vision: clean, timeless, texture-forward. No over-the-top edits, no forced poses. Just the clothes, the people, and the place.
Blu Labs nailed the vibe.
From the moment we arrived on set, there was this flow. Whether it was adjusting lighting, shifting locations, or just catching candid moments between takes—they were quick, calm, and clear. They brought a sense of calm to the whole process, which helped us focus on what mattered: showcasing the fits the way we imagined them when they were just sketches.
We shot around studio, outdoor and apartment - all those elements became part of the visual story. Drop one came alive in a way that felt personal and familiar.

It wasn’t all smooth, of course. Weather, timing, and late-night prep always play their part—but that’s part of the journey. And honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way. We were shooting for three days straight because I only had 14 days in Nepal. We also shot a podcast which will be out soon that we took when we were there, so feel free to check it out if you were keen to watch.
This shoot gave us the launch visuals for Drop One, but more importantly, it gave us memories and momentum. Big love to Blu Labs for being an essential part of that.
We’re already thinking about the next one.
